This pack contains a total of 2 versions: Original version Modified version ORIGINAL VERSION Original 3D models in FBX format Original texures in PNG format MODIFIED VERSION Modified 3D models in MAX, FBX and OBJ formats Modified textures in PNG format (detached channels to separated textures) Properly detached, remaped, textured and grouped geometries of Rims Properly detached, remaped, textured and grouped geometries of BrakeDiscs Properly detached, remaped, textured and grouped geometries of Tires Fixed inconsistency between texture and material names (absence of material sharing between variants to preserve coinstency) Created materials (Multi-sub object) for each rim variant (*A, *B, *C ...) to remove the need to manually apply textures for different rim variants Understanding rim types, sizes and hierarchy (MODIFIED VERSION) Before being able to effectively work with rims of modified version, it's important to understand how the scene of modified version is standardized. Each scene contains multiple groups of rim types in following format: _mso_placeholder (Geometry) - explained below R{size}{type}{type_variant} (Group) - groups all 4 rims/sides together R{size}{type}{type_variant}_LF (Group) - groups geometries of particular side together R{size}{type}{type_variant}_LF_BrakeDisc (Geometry) - geometry of this side brake disc R{size}{type}{type_variant}_LF_Rim (Geometry) - geometry of this side rim (can have multiple variants) R{size}{type}{type_variant}_LF_Tire (Geometry) - geometry of this side tire R{size}{type}{type_variant}_LR (Group) ... R{size}{type}{type_variant}_RF (Group) ... R{size}{type}{type_variant}_RR (Group) ... Legend: {size} - Size of the rim in inches (for example: R18Na -> 18" rim) {type}- Type of the rim in terms of customization type - two values: N-Normal, W-Wide (for example: R18Wa -> 'Wide' rim for TNR bodykits of type 'Wide') {type_variant} - Variant of the type (not importatnt outside of the game) Working with rim variants - understanding _mso_placeholder (MODIFIED VERSION) Rim variants are customization options which change appearance of the rim. Each rim may have multiple different appearance possibilities - different material of geometry surface (color, glossiness) -> (matte black, glossy black, chrome, gold etc.). Rim variants are separated using uppercase letters of alphabet - for example: Rim*A, Rim*B, Rim*C... Using/changing variant means using different material/texture for Rim objects. Each rim scene of modified version contains special helper object - _mso_placeholder, which has a Multi-sub object material applied to it. The multi-material contains material for each possible variant of the rim (index+ -> variant+) (for example: mso[1]->Rim_*A, mso[2]->Rim_*B etc.). The point of the multi-material is to remove the need to manually change textures in order to change rim variant. There are two strategies of use this was aimed for: The material can be "pulled-out" of the Multi-material and applied to the rim objects to change variant The whole Multi-material can be applied to Rim object, where changing material Id of Rim object (all faces) will result a change of variant

    Some time ago I posted pics of some DDR police cruisers I'd made on N.F.S. Addons and a member suggested it may just be possible to do a complete ColdWar mod. Well it is thanks in part to the help from the Emergency 4 mod guys I have got some more vehicles (Gaz Volga M24 and UAZ 469 Jeep and UAZ van) Sadly due to game poly limits some of the vehicles don't look as great as I'd like but they are decent enough. Due to game limitations the player will have to replace police vehicles manually for some places (i.e. if you are playing with the VolksPolizei as replacements to BMW and Porsche 911 police cars and you suddenly decide to try your luck against Polish Milija or Soviet Militia you'll have to change the vehicles to these as the game only allows 1 type replacement to the BMW police cars and Porsche 911 police cars. Other than these draw backs it should be a blast from the past for those who lived through this era at the represented locales. Anyone have any suggestions on vehicles to add> Maybe help with modding tracks to a ColdWar locale? What I have ready so far : D.D.R. beta track: Currently working on tracks to represent: Bulgaria S.S.R.,Romainia S.S.R., Poland S.S.R.,Czechoslavakia, Hungary S.S.R.,and U.S.S.R.. With Poland I have been expirmenting with the France (Route Andouf) track. U.S.S.R. was a replacement to Celtic Ruins so the only oddity here is as that track is set in the U.K. people drive on the wrong side of the road in it . This mod will be as accurate as the game will allow though right down to the authentic sirens of each locale. Vehicles completed: D.D.R.: Bulgaria: Romania: Hungary: Poland: Czechoslavakia: U.S.S.R.: When possible I have gave the driver's the uniform of each country but this isn't always possible due to space limitations in the vehicle's texturing (game only allows 256 X 256 and 512 X 512). Mod will also feature a variety of civillian vehciles you can play as and run form the police,militias,or what ever word known as police in each land. Civillian versions include: Lada: Niva,2106,2101,2108 Volga M24 Gaz UAZ Buhanka IFA W350 Wartburg 353 Wartburg 113 Zaphoretts 963 Polski Fiat 125P UAZ 469 Jeep Trabant Combi Anyone one have suggestions on god police or civillian vehicles to add? Game has around a 10000 poly limit and a 5000-6000 poly limit on replacement police vehicles (some tracks have lower police vehicle limits on replacements) but the standard 10000 on player police vehicles.
